Welcome
Casa Nova de Traver is a traditional stone Catalan farmhouse or "masia" built in the 1700's. It was a working farm until acquired in 2000 by the Scottish/Catalan couple of Donald and Susana, who now live there with their son, Donald, and daughter Julia. Mirk, the Border Collie, Miffy the cat, and her kittens, Spotty, Snowy and Minnie also form part of the family.

History
The Traver family were wealthy landowners. They had a daughter who was deaf and dumb and rather than leave her unmarried, the family arranged for her to marry one of the farmhands and had the house built for the new couple close to the family home or "casa pairal", which still stands in the village of Usall. Hence the house is called Casa Nova de Traver or "New House of Traver".
